Athena's Final Steps!!

My name is Tuncay Adem. As the owner and operator of Canine Counsel Dog Training. I was given the opportunity to work with Athena. I was not aware of the case until I was truly involved. I was asked to go an evaluate a Pitbull that was abused. It wasnt until I saw the pictures and learned the story did I actually become so heavily invested. Not for the sake of what I do, but for justice. If pictures could paint a 1000 words this is a true story of that, Look at all the pictures I have posted of her story, Google it. To be blunt, Athena was heavily abused, failed at fighting was of no use to her owner and was left in an airline container outside without food and water, abused and left to die. While we patiently await the trial of her abuser her bills add up. As in depth as I want to go I will not due to legalities. So why a fundraiser for Athena. Her initial round of fundraising covered over 10s of thousands of dollars of medical bills. What was left was to cover her training, continued rehabilitation and also the search for her forever home. The rehabilitation is far beyond what most can comprehend. From trust, to learning to live in a home, to actually accept love as it was so foreign to her. Her behavior was as an aggressor. This is not something that can be taken lightly, this is 100s of hours of repetition work. taking multiple downfalls to never give up on her. To make her see that she doesnt need to just exist and fight. Repeat those words to yourself. Exist and fight. Does an innocent soul deserve this? Question that.

Most people scroll by many FB fundraisers because the stories unfortunately are all to similar. The reason why Athena stands out is because the authorities are involved. Someone can actually pay for his indiscretions and outright brutality. Many rescues ask all the time for help I am doing this myself on behalf of Athena because she lives with me. I picked up the pieces of a broken abused soul that wasnt sure what human love and care was. Sure part of it is my job however some dogs are so special and mean the world. Although as a trainer I cant give them the life they deserve I can be the stepping stone. I want her to have all she can have but I also want her to have justice and the help she needs to live in the cynical place we call society.

I am at the final stages of helping Athena but with no more funding left for her we need some help to finish this stage and take her to her final stop. That final stop is for Athena to find a home, finish her training and supply her with all the support she needs when she leaves me. This is not just another story. This is something that has happened right in your backyard. As a group of animal lovers, animal advocates, justice seekers and potential fosters and or adopters lets group together, finish this journey and give Athena justice and a place she can call home. So if you can contribute to Athena she can live the rest of her life peacefully.
