Help baby girl Athena come home
Donativo protegido
Athena Theodora was born four weeks early on November 1, 2021, weighing just 4lbs 4oz. She immediately was taken to the NICU and in the days that followed, as she struggled to gain weight, it was confirmed through testing that she has a rare genetic disorder, trisomy 9 mosaicism. This is an extremely rare developmental disorder with some research citing only 300 cases recorded worldwide. But like her namesake, she is ready to battle and prove she can thrive.
With little research and information, it’s hard to say how Athena may be affected. As you can imagine, this has been very difficult for her parents, Jenna and Will, both mentally and financially. Athena remains in the hospital with hopes of going home in the New Year. But in the meantime, they have to travel 45 mins each way to see her daily. They are juggling work and a very active 4 year old as well. The stress of not knowing what’s next is taking a toll.
Please consider making a donation to this family and also raise awareness for Athena’s condition. This will be a long road, but her fight is our fight and we hope to lessen the bumps for this family along the way. Thank you for all your prayers, love, and support!
