Hi all!
My name is Gabbie and I’m a millennial who decided fur children would be cheaper than human ones. Both my cats Athena and Apollo (the void) took that as a challenge and decided to have an emergency vet visits costing me the same amount almost exactly a year apart.
Apollo had a urinary blockage last year and $3K later is doing fine (my credit card begs to differ). Athena has now decided to join that club and went to the ER due to not wanting to eat or drink for a whole day. Even churu (the cat crack) didn’t entice her, so off to the vet we went. Many hours later, it was found she has high kidney levels but we’re not sure why. She is staying overnight for fluids and has an ultrasound scheduled for tomorrow (6/24) to check for a possible foreign body ingestion (anyone else’s cat like to eat plastic??).
All that said, we are left with already spending $1.3K and that amount possibly doubling. My credit card is sweating, I’m sweating, and you’re also probably sweating (if you’re on the East Coast during this wild heat wave). The world is crazy, but so are cats and I’m asking for help to make sure both Athena and Apollo continue to drive me crazy for many years to come. I appreciate anything and please give your kitties a chin scratch (or pups a head pat!) for me.
Gabbie/Gabrielle
