Hello friends. I am so embarrassed to ask but my family needs help big time.
If you aren’t able to donate, please share.
On Tuesday I went into a postpartum psychosis episode and ended up in being placed in the behavioral health for self harm and delusions. While my husband and I were at Enloe Emergency Department for me to get admitted to Butte County Behavioral Health, my sweet 4 month old baby girl Athena Skye started vomiting everything up.
My husband took her to see her pediatrician the next morning and they ran all the tests but couldn’t find the reason why she wasn’t keeping anything down. The same day she started pooping blood.
My husband rushed her to the ER to find out she had an intussusception and from there they were ambulanced to UCDavis.
This is a serious condition in which part of the intestine slides into an adjacent part of the intestine. This telescoping blocks food or fluid from passing through. Intussusception also cuts off the blood supply to the part of the intestine that's affected. Athena had a procedure done that failed and ended up having to have surgery and a stoma placed that will stay for 6 weeks.
Now our baby girl is having complications with possible dead tissue in her intestines and dealing with infections. She is on antibiotics and needs a tube placed down her throat to her belly to pump the waste out because they think her intestine is swelling from surgery, making her bowels back up and causes her to vomit anything she eats. She is still having bloody diapers and is unable to eat and has to lay flat.
We are in for a long road of recovery for our sweet girl. Minimum 6 weeks. With me being self employed and my husband being a new hire we don’t have the funds to cover this emergency time off.
I know times are tough on everyone. So if you’re unable to donate please just send us good thoughts and prayers and maybe share this to get it out.
We don’t need much just enough to get by and feed our family and afford trips too and from UCDavis for the next 2 months. And then the further recovery in catching up on her milestones.
Our family is infinitely grateful for any help and positive vibes and prayers we receive. Thank you in advance. ❤️
