Can you help our mom, Athena, achieve one of her lifelong dreams?


Our beautiful mom, Athena, has the opportunity to attend American Ballet Theatre’s Teacher Training. The training just so happens to be offered in Colorado Springs this year, which makes her dream more accessible than ever! Can you help us raise $1850 by February 10 to send her to this training?


Our mom started dancing almost as soon as she could walk -- starting ballet lessons at the tender age of 2 years -- and has spent literally a lifetime dancing and performing. Most importantly, she has spread her love of dance and the arts as a teacher and educator to students of all ages and skill levels. Her passion has led to a long and fruitful career from touring as a featured dancer with The Young Americans, teaching at multiple studios in California and Colorado, and choreographing for schools and churches.


She earned a bachelor's degree in interdisciplinary fine arts from UC Irvine and a master’s degree in Education from Regis University -- achieving her master’s while working full time AND raising the three of us crazy kids!


Not only has mom poured her heart and soul into teaching, but she has also been a committed supporter and leader of arts communities. She‘s served as a board member for Village Arts of Colorado Springs, Colorado Springs Dance Theatre, Colorado Dance Education Organization, and Colorado Dance Alliance. Uniting her faith with her passion for movement has also always been vital to our mom, and she leads Declare His Glory Dance (DHGD), a multi-generational praise dance group. With DHGD, she produces an annual concert, bringing together praise dance groups from all over Colorado for a beautiful night of worship. 


Our mom has dedicated her life to spreading the joy of dance and the arts, and has no plans for slowing down. This training would allow her to deepen her knowledge of and passion for ballet, giving her even more tools with which to train and inspire the next generation of dancers. As an incredible, loving, supportive mother, she has spent the last 30+ years in unwavering support of our dreams, and we’d love nothing more than to help her make this dream a reality.
