My name is Athalia Lopez and I'm a Junior nursing student at the University of Massachusetts Boston. I was born to do many things in life, but most importantly to help people, and to venture the world.
Ever since I can remember, I have always had this fiery desire and curiosity to engage with and learn about the world outside of the United States. Unfortunately, growing up in a low-income family of eight has made this almost impossible to accomplish. UMass Boston is offering a three week study abroad program to Germany in January and I am SO EXCITED!!
The donations from this GoFundMe will assist with roundtrip airfare to Germany, program fees to UMass Boston, housing accomodations, and meals, which comes out to $2926. A deposit to secure my spot in the program is due in OCTOBER. In an attempt to lessen the burden on my entire family, I've been working non-stop and saving as much money as possible to reach $2,926, but I am no where close.
This opportunity means so lot to me and I would appreciate the assistance from my family, friends, and peers.
