ATF Fundraiser for Nick Vasquez
Donation protected
In May 2012, Nick suffered a traumatic brain injury from a 4 story fall at San Diego State University.
Since then, Nick has been wheelchair-bound, has limited mobility on the left side and suffers from hypertonia (too much muscle tone), in addition to short-term memory loss and focus issues.
In January, Nick's dad Leo applied to the Adaptive Training Foundation
(ATF) in Carrollton, Texas and Nick was accepted for the September 5th Redefine Class.
This ATF program "provides access and inclusion to individuals living with physical or traumatic impairment by empowering them through exercise and community." This is a dream come true! Nine weeks of the REDEFINE program that includes physical and mental training customized for adaptive athletes. It focuses on potential, not weaknesses. Followed by a weeklong REDEPLOY program that tests newfound abilities in recreational sports like adaptive skiing, snowboarding, surfing, mountain biking, water sports, rock climbing, etc.
While the training is free to the athlete, any money donated will be used for transportation, food and miscellaneous expenses incurred over this two-and-a-half-month period.
Any amount you're willing to contribute is so GREATLY appreciated, and if you aren't able to contribute money at this time, a share with your friends and family would mean the world to us as well.
