The Nuttall's Anencephaly Angel

Donation protected
Hello friends, and thank you for reading and sharing this. I set up this account to help a friend near and dear to my heart, Melody Nuttall and her husband, Paul.

Melody and I have daughters only 1 month apart and have loved seeing our girls grow up together, though we are far away geographically.  It took them 4 years and so much heartache to conceive their precious Lily, but she is the light of their lives.

They have longed to give her a sibling and have endured 2 painful miscarriages since giving birth to their daughter in July, 2014.

Melody conceived for the 3rd time in June, 2015, and once making it to the 2nd trimester with no issues, we all rejoiced for her. Then tragedy struck at her 14 week ultrasound. Her baby was diagnosed with anencephaly, a serious and terminal birth defect in which a baby is born without parts of the brain and skull. Infants with this disorder survive only a few hours or just a few days after birth in almost all cases.

Melody and Paul have made the brave, selfless, and amazingly courageous decision to carry the baby to term so that they may sacrificially donate their baby's organs to help save other little ones. Instead of bringing their baby home, they will be faced with the task of planning a funeral and memorial service and celebrate only by knowing their child will live on by saving the lives of other parents' children.

This is a place no mother and father should ever be in, especially ones who have already suffered so much. These are the times when we want to question God and why He allows such horrible things to happen to such wonderful people.  But Melody and Paul are so strong and brave. They know and believe there is purpose in this and that God will get their family through the darkest of nights, as He has throughout their lives.

Practically speaking, however, there are medical expenses already starting to pile up, and the team of specialists required to make this happen and see Melody through the remainder of her pregnancy are daunting. Not only do she and Paul covet your prayers (and we are still praying for a miracle!!!!), they would be eternally grateful for any donation or help to cover the mounting piles of bills. Though insurance is helpful, their deductible is $4,000, so I'm trying to help them raise enough money so that she doesn't have to pay that on top of planning a funeral for her precious little one.

Please friends, join me in supporting this amazing family in any way you feel led, either in prayer or in a more tangible way. May the God of all comfort keep, sustain, and protect her these coming days and months. My prayer is, though they hurt, they may rejoice. Though they grieve, they may too celebrate. And though they may weep, they will be surrounded by love and support they have never known before.
