Hi, my name is Juana, and I’m reaching out with a heavy heart and a humble request for help.

This is Oreo, a sweet 5-year-old dog who has been passed from 2 other families, who were not able to take care of him until he finally found his way to us. We are now his third family, and when we took him in, we had no idea of the health condition he was in.

Oreo had to receive all of his vaccines including his booster shots as he wasn't vaccinated when we received him and the basic veterinary check. His oral health was in a critical state — a virus had been eating away at his teeth, causing him immense pain. On top of that, Oreo had a testicle that never descended, which, if left untreated, could have caused serious complications later on.

On August 8, after rushing to get him the help he desperately needed, Oreo finally received everything:

All his vaccinations and boosters were received a few weeks prior.

A crucial oral surgery to save his remaining teeth (3 teeth were removed, and he had undergone a deep cleaning of all his teeth)

Neutering surgery to address his medical issues.

We are so relieved that Oreo is now on the path to recovery and will finally get to live the life he deserves — happy, healthy, and safe.

However, the unexpected cost of over $3,000 for all of Oreo’s urgent medical needs hit us hard. As much as we were prepared to give him love and a forever home, we were not financially prepared to take on all of his overdue care at once.

We’ve done everything we can. My kids have helped me, and I’ve been selling handmade bracelets to make up for the difference between what I was able to put down for the surgery. But with each bracelet taking me 3 hours to make and selling for only $15, it’s simply not enough to cover the debt we’ve taken on. All of these expenses have gone on credit cards, and we’re now struggling to keep up.

This is why I am humbly asking for your help. We are not looking to profit — only to break even and cover the $3.000 in medical expenses Oreo needed to begin to thrive with us.

Every dollar counts. Even if you cannot donate, sharing this page would mean the world to us. Oreo is finally safe, but now we need a bit of kindness to get through this rough patch and give him the life he has always deserved.
