Our 26 year old niece, Emery has been diagnosed with stage 3 Breast Cancer and in the fight of her life!
This is a story our family knows all too well. About 20 years ago, Emery’s mom was diagnosed with Breast Cancer and it took her life at age 24. She left behind her daughter Emery, who was just 6 years old and her son Nathan, who was only 4. Two babies that grew up without their mother.
Fast forward. Emery faces the same diagnosis her mother did. At age 24 Emery tested positive for the BRACA gene, and at age 26 Emery was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. On March 8th, 2023 Emery was diagnosed with invasive Ductal Carcinoma with a 2 mm tumor. A diagnosis she could hardly prepare for and the last thing she thought she would hear from her doctor!
Today Emery is in the biggest fight of her life. She is extremely scared, but determined and is fighting with everything inside her. She is a strong and independent woman who is struggling between the chemo aftermath on her body and her will to keep going. Emery is determined to rewrite her story.
On March 15th Emery began a very strong chemo therapy regimen in hopes of shrinking the tumor, and prepare for a massive surgery - a double mastectomy. Chemotherapy, as you could imagine, has zapped Emery physically, mentally and emotionally. Before her cancer diagnosis, Emery was working 5 days a week at Salon Revelation as a hair stylist and had a very active social life with friends and family. Today she works a reduce workload (3 days a week), only seeing 2-3 clients each day. Chemo is wiping her out. This has put huge financial burden on her, and it has created an immense amount of stress.
This GoFundMe page was created to help Emery survive the financial burden that cancer has inflicted upon her. All donations will be used for medical bills and living expenses. Please, if you are not in a place to donate funds, please, please SHARE and PRAY with us. We so appreciate all your support, generosity and prayers.
