Hello everyone,

My name is Kim, I’m 20 years old. And at 20, you’re not supposed to be preparing to lose your mother.

I’m writing to you for my mom, Angelique, 44 years old.

In 2023, she was diagnosed with a grade 4 glioblastoma, a particularly aggressive and incurable brain tumor in France. A disease that shows no mercy.

For more than a year, she has been fighting with incredible strength: she underwent major brain surgery, went through radiotherapy, chemotherapy, and she kept smiling despite the hardships.

But in recent weeks, her condition has suddenly worsened.

The latest news has been very hard: the doctors told us the disease has progressed and that her life expectancy is only a few months.

In France, we tried to get her into a clinical trial that could have offered her an experimental treatment to try to slow the disease. She went through all the tests. She was deemed eligible. But in the end, there was a random draw. As if her life were decided by the flip of a coin.

She was not selected in the draw.

It’s unfair. It’s outrageous. Despite everything, we don’t want to give up.

With my father, we started searching day and night. We found an experimental clinical trial in the United States, in a specialized center. An advanced immunotherapy, with CAR-T cells. One of the rare approaches that could, in some cases, put the tumor to sleep, slow it down, offer a few more months of life, sometimes several years.

And in some rare cases: remissions.

For now, it is the most promising path that exists, with the most convincing results.

If there is a chance, we want to take it.

The problem is that these experimental treatments abroad cost hundreds of thousands of euros. But it’s not like in France. Over there, everything is at our expense…

That is why, today, we are reaching out to you, with great modesty but above all with great hope. We are launching this fundraiser to help cover:

• Medical expenses outside the protocol: imaging, consultations, medical emergencies…
• Travel costs

• Accommodation on site

• Daily living expenses in the United States

The total estimated budget: nearly 150,000 euros.

It’s just enormous. We can’t do it alone. So today, I’m asking for your help.

Every contribution, even 1€, every share, every word of encouragement means so much to us.

Why am I doing this?

Because I refuse to sit back and do nothing.

Because I was told my mother is going to die, and here I am searching for solutions on the Internet, translating medical reports, writing to American hospitals in the middle of the night.

Because I want to be able to say that I tried everything.

Because we love her. And we still want to laugh with her. We want to give her memories. Time.

And because she’s my mom, and no one deserves to lose their mom so soon.

Cancer kills the patient, but it also takes their loved ones with them.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart to those who will take the time to read my message, to those who will contribute—every euro counts.

We will keep you informed of every step.

We will fight until the end.
