Ernie and Lori-Lynn are Homeless and Heartbroken

Donation protected
My name is Lori-Lynn and my husband's name is Ernie. I'm writing to you in the hope that you can help us. My husband and I and our 23 year old daughter are technically homeless. No one will rent us a home because we have no credit and no rental history. All the money we had saved up for application fees, deposits and rent is now gone because we've had to pay for hotels and storage locker fees.

My husband is 69 years old, he's disabled and he's a veteran. He has a titanium steel plate in his neck, two stents in his heart, 3 blown out discs in his lower back and he has high blood pressure. I am 57 years old, I had a stress induced mini stroke in 2005 which is when they discovered that I have high blood pressure, Type 2 Diabetes, Diabetic Neuropathy in my feet and now my hands as well. The more stress I'm under, the worse the pain gets. My eyesight is getting worse and because of all the medications we take our dental health is very poor as well.

Our daughter lives with us so she can help me take care of her dad as well as myself. She also suffers from some residual emotional issues from a brain tumor she had removed just three and a half weeks after her 14th birthday, but she's doing well otherwise.

We have one vehicle that we were able to pay off five years ago, but unfortunately the air conditioning broke the following year. Since we live in Arizona in the "Valley of the Sun", it's important that you have working A/C in your vehicle. We tried to save up the money to get it fixed but something else would require that money such as doctor bills and monthly prescriptions. We need to live in Scottsdale, AZ because that's where our Family Doctor, my husband's Cardiologist and the satellite office for our back doctor is.

My husband can barely walk and traveling to the doctor, especially with no A/C is nearly impossible. Our daughter works, but I have to drive her 35+ miles one way and then sit in the Denny's across the street until her shift ends. She's in the process of trying to get a transfer to a store in Scottsdale, AZ. It's a good thing she works the overnight shift because it would be too hot to drive her to work when the sun's up. We also have emotional support service animals that require our care as much as we require theirs. So, it's our daughter's paycheck that pays for their food as well as ours and puts gas in our vehicle.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, they're about to lock us out of our storage lockers because we're behind on the storage fees. Our daughter can only pay for so much before she gets her next check. If anyone knows of someone with a rental property in Scottsdale, AZ that they would be willing to rent to us, we will prove what worthy tenants we will be by the care we give the home and property.

We just need some help and someone to give us a chance. Once we get on our feet and settled we would like to help someone else in need. Please help us and God Bless You.
