I am 58 years old and single. I lost my home and everything in it, my rental units that gave me some income, my small business shop, along with thousands of dollars of business inventory in the Dixie Fire. A life time of acquiring, to be where I was in life. Independent. I could not afford the fire insurance in the forest on a more than 100 year old building in Northern California. Many of us are in the same boat. I also lost my home post office I worked at, and another post office I sometimes worked at. For now I am able to work part time in another office. The Dixie Fire burned down 90% of my town. I have a few disabilities that prevent me from working full time, although I can and do work full time in short spurts. I have a bit of savings, and fema will give me some help also, but it will not come near to replacing what I had. I have given close to $1000 out of my pocket to several other victims of this same disaster, who I knew needed it more than I. Starting over from scratch at my age, by myself is disheartening. If you have an abundance and feel led to help me, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. If you can't I understand, please say a prayer for all who have suffered from this fire, and please share this for me. And know that I will be ok. Thank You!
