Astyn Ameer Carr departed from us on Tuesday, July 22nd, 2025, at the tender age of 8 years old. While his transition took his family and our community by surprise, his legacy of being bold, kind, and having true grit is unmatched. His purpose of showing everyone that there's no challenge too mighty influenced his parents, siblings, extended family, friends, and teachers alike.

Astyn was born on February 9th, 2017. He was born at 24 weeks weighing 1 pound, 2 ounces. His arm was so small, a wedding ring could fit around it - but that did not stop him from kicking (yes, kicking) a hole into his incubator tent and letting everyone know in the NICU it was HIS time to shine!

Astyn pushed through no matter what. His benchmark delays were never denials as he succeeded in being a engaged student and athlete (although, he played by his own rules there too!).

Astyn's transition has left an unimaginable void for his parents, Staci & Drew Carr, and siblings. Navigating the next days, weeks, and months will be challenging for the family as they lean on each other for love and support.

Staci and Drew will be stepping away from their professional roles temporarily to ensure that their family has what it needs emotionally during this time.
