Astrid's Bereavement Fund-In honor of Matta

This fundraiser is for Astrid Maize, daughter of Matta Andrea Schaal, who passed away this week after a long journey with cancer. We want Astrid to receive abundant care and support from the community as she navigates the grief of losing her mom. Having a bereavement fund to care for Astrid's needs over these next years will provide extra loving support to buffer the hardships and challenges. The funds raised will be managed by an executor until Astrid becomes an adult and will go to support whatever she is needing-things like post-secondary school, buying her first car, and assisting her and her dad with housing.

Matta Schall was an active and beloved community member, artist, visionary, healer, and vibrant creatrix of many things. She lived at Coho land project on Denman Island in a beautiful cob home she built. Her loss leaves an enormous hole in the community.
