Hello, my name is Taylor Huffman. I am fundraising for my brother, Kilian Carr & his girlfriend Jess Maichele. On June 13th, 2022, their 3 year old baby boy was diagnosed with B Cell Leukemia. Something no family ever wants to go through. Asta is receiving treatment at the Children's Hospital in Milwaukee WI. I am asking for help to support them with funds for gas, food, medical bills, anything. They will be traveling back & forth from the Milwaukee Children's hospital three times a week for his treatment which will result in them having to miss work.  Update: At the end of Asta's first month of cancer treatment, he was diagnosed with a very dangerous and aggressive fungal infection. He underwent 10 debridements and a partial resection where the upper hard palate of his mouth was removed, leaving an open space between his nasal cavities and mouth. As a result of the infection he also lost all of his top adult teeth, and his front top baby teeth between his canines along with his septum. After a 40 day inpatient stay at the hospital, he was finally discharged on 8/19/2022. But his fight is not over. He will need to have new dentures created yearly so he can eat, drink and speak properly until he can have a bone graft and implants placed (this cannot be done until his early 20s or until he stops growing). He will also need reconstructive surgery to fix his "saddle nose". He will continue to receive infusions three times per week at Children's Hospital to help his body keep the fungal infection away while he also continues his leukemia treatment over the next 3 years.
