CHI SIAMO

L’Associazione no profit “Gruppo Nairobi” nasce con un obiettivo chiaro e ambizioso: costruire una scuola elementare con 6 aule per offrire istruzione ai bambini che vivono in condizioni di grave difficoltà economica. La nostra missione è guidata dalla convinzione profonda che “l’istruzione è la chiave dello sviluppo” e che ogni bambino abbia diritto a un futuro migliore.

Il progetto prenderà vita in Kenya, a circa 90 km da Nairobi, nel Comune di Ngunga Paris, distretto di Machakos. Questa zona, situata ai confini con la Tanzania, è caratterizzata da un livello di povertà elevato e da una mancanza di infrastrutture adeguate per l’istruzione.

PERCHÈ

L’idea di costruire la scuola ci è stata proposta da Suor Hitha, un volto a noi già noto e caro. Ex direttrice della scuola che abbiamo contribuito a realizzare in India, nel Kerala, Suor Hitha ora si trova in Kenya, dove lavora insieme a un gruppo di suore indiane e keniote. La loro missione è offrire assistenza e istruzione a bambini che, a causa di difficoltà economiche, non possono accedere alla scuola pubblica. Attraverso l’educazione, vogliamo offrire loro una via d’uscita dalla povertà e, allo stesso tempo, contribuire a contrastare il fenomeno dell’immigrazione illegale.

IL PROGETTO IN DETTAGLIO

La scuola primaria sarà composta da 6 aule e sorgerà su un terreno già messo a disposizione dalla congregazione delle suore. Tuttavia, per portare a termine il progetto, è necessario un investimento economico complessivo di circa 180.000 euro.

WHO WE ARE

The non-profit organization “Gruppo Nairobi” was founded with a clear and ambitious goal: to build an elementary school with 6 classrooms to provide education to children living in severe economic hardship. Our mission is driven by the deep belief that “education is the key to development” and that every child deserves the opportunity to build a better future.

WHERE

The project will take place in Kenya, about 90 km from Nairobi, in the Municipality of Ngunga Paris, Machakos District. This area, located near the border with Tanzania, is characterized by high levels of poverty and a lack of adequate educational infrastructure.

WHY

The idea to build the school was proposed to us by Sister Hitha, a familiar and cherished figure for our organization. Formerly the director of a school we helped establish in India, in the state of Kerala, Sister Hitha is now in Kenya, working with a group of Indian and Kenyan nuns. Their mission is to provide assistance and education to children who, due to financial difficulties, cannot attend public schools. Through education, we aim to offer them a path out of poverty and, at the same time, help combat illegal immigration by creating opportunities in their home region.

PROJECT DETAILS

The primary school will consist of 6 classrooms and will be built on land already provided by the congregation of nuns. However, completing the project requires a total financial investment of approximately €180,000.
