As a nurse, Jan dedicated her life to helping those in need.  It was truly a passion of hers to provide compassionate care to everyone who crossed paths with her.  Unfortunately towards the end of 2017, Jan found herself to be on the receiving end of needing care.  Jan began having issues that were affecting her speech, causing twitching, as well as impacting her ability to swallow.  Upon further evaluation, Jan was diagnosed with a rare benign brain tumor.  In January of 2018, she endured a 6+ hour surgery to have the tumor removed.  Jan's recovery has been extremely difficult.  She has been going through intense physical, occupational, and speech therapies attempting to regain her strength and learn how to cope with her new normal.


Although Jan’s surgery went better than expected, there were no shortcomings when she was faced with some setbacks along the way.  Jan had post-operative issues with her speech and swallowing, which led to her require a feeding tube for nutrition.  Jan has courageously worked with multiple therapists and sustained many difficult treatments through a slow and arduous recovery process.  Jan and her family could never have anticipated the challenges that lay ahead of them, especially the need for a second surgery on April 27, 2018. 

With Jan being unable to work and her husband taking time off from his job for countless doctor appointments and to spend quality time with her and their daughter, Jan’s family is in dire need of assistance and financial support.  We hope you can find it in your heart to help this beautiful family.
