On December 21, 2021 at 3:06 pm James Costa suddenly passed away after almost a month-long battle against Covid-19 and Pneumonia. Not too long before he passed, James was supposed to go to rehab to recover from Covid.  Unfortunately, the Pseudomonas in his lungs came back stronger and he could not fight it off.  His death was unexpected to us, me his wife, and our two adult children, but we were luckily able to be with him in his last few moments.

 

Jimmy was the foundation to our family.  He was a patient husband, loving father, and a man you could rely on to help you through tough times.  Although quirky, he always brought a smile to people around him if you understood his odd sense of humor.  He was filled with life as if nothing could bring him down, after a little over two weeks in the hospital he showed signs of improvement.  Imagine our shock to hear one day he was going to rehab and then two days later find out he was going downhill.

 

He was doing so well, we had so much hope he would be healthy enough for us to visit him on Christmas. Since we were not able to visit him most of the time due to hospital regulations.

 

Jimmy was also our main financial support; after a few days of being hospitalized he was put into a medically induce coma. Because he also handled the financial matters of the home, he was not able to communicate with me on all the expenses he was handling.

 

Now with his unexpected death, our family is trying our best to navigate the process of losing a loved one and grieving at the same time. Although all of us work, we are now struggling to not only cover our daily expenses but also to cover the expenses that occur at the end of one’s life.

 

We are unfamiliar with all the expenses that will incur from not only the end of a person’s life but also the financial matters Jimmy took care of.  For now, we set our goal to $10,000 for now in hopes it’ll be enough to cover; memorial service, legal fees that may incur, and any other future expenses from Jimmy’s passing.
