Hello, my name is Joe, and I am reaching out to everyone for assistance.
I planned well and moved across the country with my daughters to help and be with my mom for her final days. Coming out here, we all thought there would be more time, but we were proven wrong.
My mother is suffering from a rare form of cancer, Multiple Myeloma. She has been suffering through this process for over ten years, and in this final stage, her organs are starting to fail. Her VA benefits are allowing us to have hospice care. I tried to take care of her myself, but I could not do it.
I am a single father with a full-time job, and being her caretaker on top of taking care of my kids, working and keeping house was overwhelming. Her condition started to deteriorate about three months ago, and she had to be moved to the hospital for treatment and then comfort care.
I am asking for help to pay for her funeral arrangements. I am trying my hardest, but I haven't finished recovering from the move across the country and flying my brother out to see our mom before she is gone.
If I hit the goal of paying for the cremation, the next step will be to take time off work.
My Job has been supportive during this process, but I need unpaid time off. I want to ensure my bills are covered so I can stay with her as long as possible at the hospice. I don't want her to be alone. None of us would want that for our loved ones.
Thank you for taking the time to read this; even if you can not assist, know that I am thankful to you for taking the time to read this.
