Hi everyone!
My name is Oskie Mignon - fur parent to Malibu and Monaco Mignon. The latter is a newly rescued (shelter) puppy who recently celebrated her 1st bday, and is unfortunately plagued with a myriad of health issues.
A tiny back story on Monaco Mignon via information given to me by the vets and personnel at the shelter.
Monaco, whose given name was Beets (due to the color she developed when she was dropped off), is a Pharaoh Hound American Pitbull mix. She was abandoned at her owner's home and was found by one of her neighbors - who brought her to the shelter. Monaco was chained up at home for several days with no food or water. The neighbor also said that the floor she was on was flooded with dirty water. Left to fend for herself, Monaco, a puppy, drank the polluted water. Luckily for Monaco, the neighbors heard her cries for help and came to the rescue. She received immediate medical attention when she was surrendered. She made some progress during her almost month-long period at the shelter. Putting on a little weight as she was left starving and weighing less than 15 lbs for a dog who should have been at least 25 lbs. She was also able to successfully recover from her four legs that were left submerged underwater for days. She was prescribed Doxycycline to keep her from developing any respiratory issue - which she later did. Cut to her adoption day, we bonded, I asked tons of questions, and after (what I felt) her imprinting on me, I took her home. The vet and the shelter associate assured me that she had no underlying issues or even pre-existing issues other than doxy and the need to put on a healthy amount of weight, she was a healthy dog. After about two days Monaco started to slowly deteriorate. The poor puppy was fighting a respiratory infection, intestinal and gastric complications, severe vomiting, diarrhea, dehydration, and a broken heart. After 4 vet visits, Monaco's bill skyrocketed. She now needs intestinal / stomach surgery to finally fix the issues she's been having. I consulted with 4 vets and found a qualified one who was the most affordable.
I'm asking for some assistance in helping out my little furry one. It's been a taxing experience but nothing is compared to how she is feeling right now. Please reach out to me with any questions and thank you wholeheartedly.
