Carla Diamond Cancer Treatment Support Campaign

Carla, my wife and companion of 46 years and mother of our three sons has been diagnosed with Stage 3 ovarian cancer this past week. We are not certain of the treatment plans beyond the immediate start of chemotherapy and required surgeries. She is currently hospitalized and will be for a minimum of 9-12 weeks!

This diagnosis comes after her work of more than 20 years as a physical trainer, yoga instructor and companion for others stricken with life-threatening diseases. The fairness of this event eludes us all!

 

Carla will be hospitalized continuously for a minimum of 3 months as she receives aggressive chemotherapy and an unknown number of surgeries. Once home, she will require professional nursing care regularly. This is a daunting amount of care for a family to undertake and we need your help. I am confident that those among you who have experienced severe illness or know of someone who has, any help with any aspect of care is necessary and welcome.

 

Our family now needs urgent support as we negotiate a transition from limited insurance options to Medicare this year when she reaches her 65th birthday.

 

Any support you can contribute to her care and recovery will allow our family to provide the highest level of both short and long-term care.
