Assistance with Benny's Second ACL Surgery
Donation protected
3/14 update:: bandages are off, cone still on. Everything looks like it's healing properly! since surgery day, we have raised an additional $140 putting us at $1240 total raised. That's amazing. Thank you to everyone who has donated ❤️
Another 3/7 update:: Benny was picked up from Creekside and is now home and laying down. I wanted to update on final costs. The over quoted and final total was $4555.04. Thanks to some amazing people, up to this point, we raised $1100. I have attached a photo of the final receipt showing how much cash was paid (donations) and how much went to carecredit. I am leaving my gofundme up for a bit longer and accepting donations through venmo. Thank you to everyone. Truly. We have raised more than I thought we would. So thank you. ❤️
For full transparency on where the funds are going, I have included pictures of the surgery quote (low to high end estimate) and his imaging with sedation. For the surgery, the quote range is from $4692.24 - 5455.12 and the other receipt is for his imaging with sedation. This came to $259.08. There are additional items on here, he had his yearly and updated vaccines. This is NOT included in the 259.08 and is not apart of whats being raised. He will also have imaging done at the end of his 8 week healing time which is around $100~~
Surgery day update 3/7:: just dropped Benny off. As of this moment, we have raised exactly $1100 towards his surgery. This is awesome. Thank you everyone so much
Update 3/6/2025:: we are now sitting at $970 between venmo, cash and gofundme. Thanks to everyone who has helped so far!
Update 3/3/2025:: My surgery is scheduled for this Friday 3/7. We are sitting at $595 with both venmo and gofundme. Creekside Vet DOES NOT allow people to call and donate directly due to any refunds they may need to give later down the road. That's a bummer. Thanks to everyone who has helped so far!
Hey everyone! My name is Benny. Back in November, I tore my ACL. Because I'm a big, active boy, we had to do a TPLO surgery to repair the tear to ensure longevity. This surgery cost my mom ~~$5200 after surgery, imaging and meds. This past Saturday, I slipped and tore the ACL in my other leg on melting snow outside. My mom couldn't stop crying. She works really hard but she was not prepared for 10k out of pocket in less than 6 months. She's still paying for the first one ($2600 left over, financed. This is not included in the amount needing raised). She has been calling around to other vets for quotes, even so far as to call the vet college in Ames, but the price is still the same. Please help my mom with this financial burden. I'm a good boy and I know she cares about me and just wants to do what's best for me. My surgery date is not yet scheduled but should be sometime next week where they require low end of the quote ($4500) up front. I know the economy is bad, my mom talks about it all the time so any help is much appreciated.
I also heard my mom say, if we exceed our goal, those funds will go towards paying off my previous surgery. If there is any additional funds left over, they will be donated to a program that helps others raise money for vet costs.
We do also have venmo @shayyd2011
We appreciate any help we receive. Thank you for reading❤️
