Medical Bill assistance for Kellins Recovery
Donation protected
Hello. Our names are Alexis and Justin. We are asking for help to raise money for the medical and recovery costs of our son, Kellin.
On April 25th, we were at our home getting ready to go have dinner at our neighbor's house. The day was normal, outside of a birthday breakfast that morning. While getting ready, we were playing with our son on the main floor of our home. My husband stepped away to use the restroom as I went to the fridge to get the food we were bringing to the dinner. My son closed my husband in the bathroom after shutting the light off. About 30 seconds later, my husband opened the door from the restroom and at that moment saw our son fall in front of the window into our cement-covered backyard.
In the moment our son had closed the door and walked away, he climbed upstairs and went into his sister's room. He then climbed her canopy bed and somehow opened the window. The window screen gave way and he fell two stories on his head onto the only metal grate in the backyard, absorbing some of the impact.
911 was immediately called and they chose to have him sent directly to Primary Children's by Life Flight where he spent the night with their trauma team and a plastic surgeon, my husband and I racing behind in our car.
We are so grateful to say he is going to be okay, with a long recovery ahead. By some miracle, there was no damage to his spine or neck. All damage was to his head, but while severe, non-life-threatening after MRI and CT scans.
We count our newfound blessings every moment that we still get to hold our baby every night and that our daughter still has her best friend.
We come humbly asking for assistance with our medical expenses after the Life Flight, plastic surgeons, all the ambulances and staff, trauma team, PTSD recovery, and much more.
While we understand this is an unrealistically large amount of money, any amount at all will help lessen the blow on us tremendously. We are a one-income family which makes this exceedingly more difficult.
Thank you so much for taking the time and God bless.
