Assistance to the Monroy Family

Oscar Monroy was a son, a brother, an uncle, a grandfather, and most importantly our father. His three children, Oscar, Reyna, and Martha were his strength and motivation. Those who knew our father knew him as a hard-working person who loved his children dearly. He brought his family to United States from Guatemala because he wanted us to learn English and have better opportunities to pursue successful careers. Like many immigrant parents, he left his home and his family to immigrate to the United States so that we could have the opportunities he did not. He sacrificed his career as an engineer in Guatemala and delivered pizzas and newspapers to support us.
Although there were hardships to endure, he kept the spirit of an angel and always found humor in dark times. Our father was very influential in our lives. He taught us his strong work ethic, moral values, love, humor, and most importantly to have faith in God. Our father always made sure that God was who we seek in times of hardship. We know that even though our father is no longer with us, we have gained a guardian angel. We take solace in knowing he is no longer suffering and he is with the Lord, resting in peace.
We did no plan for this tragedy and hence have found ourselves needing to pay for the funeral expenses out of our pockets. As three young, working adults with families of our own, we would appreciate any help you find in your hearts to share with us. Thank you.
