Assistance Request For Heather Rene Dancy
Donation protected
2020 has been a rough year for most of us. Even for those with stable jobs and income, we've watched significant strains placed on the lives of many we care about. Like most of you, I've been troubled to watch (from a distance on Facebook) a friend going through some extremely hard times. From her Facebook page I can see that Heather Rene Dancy has suffered as a victim of domestic violence, is now divorced and raising her 5 children single handedly, receives only $800 in monthly child support, isn't currently working, recently sold her home in Texas for less than expected, and is living in a hotel this month with her 5 children. She is finally free from the home in which she suffered trauma but left trying to figure out where to go from here. To top off this list of hardships, on the day of the move out of her home, Heather’s one vehicle's transmission went out, leaving Heather without transportation.
Watching these events play out has been difficult and I’m sure that most of you are also extremely concerned for Heather. I reached out to her last week. She is looking for employment (difficult to manage with 5 children) and is currently looking to find a good, inexpensive used van for her family.
Heather didn’t ask me for assistance but I offered it. She and I led a BSU small group back in college one year, and like you, I know the strength of Heather’s faith. Despite her circumstances, that has not changed.
I’d like for those who know or remember Heather to contribute something to help get her and her children back on their feet. Heather's need for immediate assistance should be obvious. I would love to see her friends, past and present, stand together and help. Together we can make a big impact. Please prayerfully consider this.
