On Sunday, the top section of Ray’s tree stand broke away from the tree causing him to fall. When he didn’t come in from hunting at dark, the landowner, a very close friend of Ray’s, went to his tree stand and found him on the ground where he fell. The Geneseo EMS, Geneseo Fire Dept and Livingston County Sheriff worked hard and transported him to Strong. He is currently in the Trauma ICU. He has/had bleeding in his brain, a collapsed lung , broken ribs and fractures in his lower spine. Ray has not yet woken up. If Ray does wake, he will need round the clock care. It is doubtful that Ray will ever be self reliant again. The medical bills are mounting and will be more than I can handle. Any amount of donation will be greatly appreciated.

Ray’s joy is our daughter, Grace. She is the light of his life. Ray & I will be celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary in February. As many of you know, Ray has run his own painting business, RCS Contracting, for almost 40 yrs. You probably can’t drive down a street in Dansville without seeing a house Ray has painted. Ray has always been a man of service & honor. He belongs to the Perkinsville Fire Department, the Perkinsville Fire District, the SpringWay Ambulance Corps, The Dansville Fish & Game, Wayland Archery and others I may be forgetting. Ray never fails to help those in need and goes above and beyond to make sure people who need assistance receive it.

Ray is a very special person to so many. But mostly to our daughter and I. I am lost and heartbroken right now, not knowing Ray’s prognosis, not having him with me in our home. I drive to Rochester twice daily, once in the morning and again in the evening, to spend as much time with him as I can, while still trying to keep our home, pets and the rest of our lives in order.

The outpouring of love, caring and concern has been truly overwhelming. But I expected nothing less, knowing what a special man my husband is. Thank you all. My words cannot express how thankful I am.
