I am finally going to ask for help to cover the cost of Tom-Tom vet bills, medicine, and to provide appropriate food and shelter until he can find a permanent home that can fit his needs.

This is Tom-Tom.

He’s an elderly cat with broken teeth, fractured toes, and battle scars. He also has feline leukemia.

About seven months ago this guy came up to our front porch. He’s rarely left since. I have fed him, took him to the vet when he was sick, and provided a shelter during harsh weather. As much as I don’t want feral cats near my home - I took pity on him. When I attempted to find him a new home – someone reached out through messenger, saying it was their cat – and to not rehome him. They never offered to reimburse me for vet bills, and never have sent any further messages to see where he is and how he is doing. I continue to look after him and provide him food and shelter.

One day, a female cat showed up along with her three kittens. He took the fatherhood role quite quickly. After Mother left - he continued to watch over her babies. One by one the babies left - until one remained. The two of them were inseparable. I have desperately tried to catch the kitten with no luck. So we reluctantly decided to let both of them live on our front porch for the remaining months – constantly checking on them and hoping for the best. I just went out and purchased a new enclosure for them to keep them safe and warm during this awful weather. 

Yesterday morning, I woke up to hay all over our front porch – and no sign of either cat. Almost 24 hours went by before Tom-Tom returned, with no kitten.

He’s constantly meowing – and isn’t eating. I know something happened, I just wish I knew what. My heart is broken. I’d give anything to be able to bring him inside, but I cannot risk my cats contracting his diseases.

This is my plea – to please spay and neuter your cats, and keep them inside. The outdoors is not a place for a cat. No one deserves to live like this.

For now – I’ll continue to care for him and love him. He’s warm and as safe as I can provide.
