Assistance for Salvatore Favata

Salvatore (Sonny) Favata was recently diagnosed with Myelodysplastic Syndrome or MDS. MDS is a type of cancer in which the body cannot produce red blood cells or platelets due to a defect in the bone marrow. Sonny is being treated by the Roswell Park Cancer Institute to receive weekly blood transfusions and platelets to keep his body functioning, along with chemotherapy. Unfortunately, the chemotherapy has not reversed this syndrome resulting in the need for a bone marrow transplant. Due to this diagnosis, Sonny has had to stop working. Sonny is fortunate to have different treatments, medications, and procedures which are keeping Sonny going; however, they are very costly. All proceeds from our fundraiser will help with Sonny’s medication costs, month long hospital stay after the transplant, and countless co-pays for doctor appointments.
