*Edited* Big Mike passed away February 5th, four days after being given the news. The purpose of this GoFundMe will remain to cover funeral, burial, medical and any other incidentals that arise. Mike's son, Michael Junior is the beneficiary. The family is incredibly grateful for all the donations to help lay out loved one to rest. Funeral arrangements will be announced once we have them set. My name is Brandy & Michael Spale is my big brother. After an ER visit January 9th, Big Mike (as he's known) was admitted due to abnormalities of the liver. Biopsies of his lung & liver confirmed cancer on January 14th. Following additional scans & testing, he was told February 1st the cancer has taken over his whole body, his organs are shutting down & his time is incredibly limited (they said around 2 weeks). Hospice is now being put in place. This was an incredible blow to not only Mike, but for our entire family.

Anyone who knows my brother knows he's called Big Mike not just because of his height or the fact that he's Mike Sr... But because of his BIG talent, his BIG heart, his BIG laugh, his BIG hugs, & most importantly, the BIG amount of love he shares with his family & friends. We are all devastated to say the least & like anyone in this position, we wish we had more time.

My brother is the last person to ask for help. However Mike has been limited on work options over the years due to a back injury & surgeries so he hasn't been able to accrue a retirement fund, insurance, savings, or other options to help cover typical costs. I created this GoFundMe on his behalf to help cover medical costs, hospice care, additional family support for his 4 minor children & future use for funeral costs.

All proceeds will go directly towards these costs listed above & trying to ease any other burdens that may arise as we navigate this difficult time & process what is to come.
