Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, gather round, gather round! Tonight, we are all, each and every one of us, going to participate in the world's greatest magic trick. Tonight, we are going to pull a motherfreaking rabbit out of a hat! You can picture this as one gigantic bunny being pulled out of an even larger hat; or as an individual effort, each of us pulling out our own unique little rabbit. But this has a specific purpose; it’s not for us. This is for Lane (Alaina) Foster, who has, for each and every one us, been there to pull off a magic trick when we needed it most. This crazy person would pull off the most insane miracles, always having energy and kindness to pull from the freaking magic Mary Poppins bag.
But here’s the thing y’all, the bag ain’t endless, not truly.

In the Beginning
• Lane contracted Covid in 2022 which led to increasing, painful, and chronic reactions.
• They had tooth pulled in January this year (2025), which led to an infection. Antibiotics weren’t strong enough and it led to dental sepsis.
What this has led to
• Illness that began in 2022 has become a systemic illness, effecting multiple body systems.
- They have been in and out (miss those burgers!) of the ER more than six times since February as a result of life-threatening reactions.
- This manifests as physical reactions to the environment; stress, foods, liquids, smells, detergents, cleaners, sanitizers, toothpastes for goodness sake! If you name it, it causes a painful, life threatening reaction to multiple body systems – hyper reactivity!
• This has displaced them from their home… (what more do I need to say...)
- Has a temporary setup in an extended-stay motel, which in this economy I don’t need to tell y’all, costs more than it’s worth…
• THEY HAVE LOST SOCIAL SECRUITY AND MEDICARE/DISABILITY (I’m sorry, I don’t mean to shout, but this is a pretty huge kick in balls.)
- They received a letter of termination on the 15th of May, stating that these services would end on the 31st of… you guessed it – May! (Grrrrr!)
- They have begun the appeals process, however as most of you are aware, there are fewer than 50 (more likely) people working in these government departments (thank you DOGE…) so this process may never resolve.
- The cost of prescriptions to help with these painful and debilitating reactions is ungodly without insurance, which leads to more ER trips.
What we are asking for
This illness is painful and debilitating. Lane is in constant pain, unable to move, walk, cook… all the crap the rest of us complain about. We’re asking for your help, for you to reach inside that hat and pull out this miracle rabbit. Lane is displaced from their home, they have no local support, they have no income and no insurance. They are burdened with medical expenses and prescription costs. Because they are unable to move and without support, DoorDash has become the grocer and the cook. Their home has become a deadly health hazard, and the motel is only a stop-gap… bit it still needs paid for...
I know the world is going to hell in a handbasket, but I would not be here asking this of you if it wasn’t for Lane...
