Hello Family and Friends,
Thank you all for your continued love and support for Gianna. I wanted to talk about how far she's come since her diagnosis in Oct 2024 and what's planned for the months ahead. In Oct 2024 she was experiencing pain in her right femur and getting very sleepy durring the day. Test later showed Stage 4 Neuroblastoma (bone marrow cancer) and an aggressive cell called ALC which makes her form of cancer even more aggressive than normal. Treatment started right away. 7 rounds of very aggressive chemotherapy at Kaiser Santa Clara, 2 rounds of even more aggressive chemotherapy at Childrens Bennioff UCSF which included 2 bone marrow transplants (each stay was one month at UCSF), 12 rounds of radiation, 3 rounds of imminutherapy, countless test, shots, feeding tube placements, blood and platlet transfusions, weekly dressing changes, septic shock and many hospital admissions in between for fevers lasting 4 days at a time.
As we are nearing Gianna‘s final days, our wish is to fill her life with all of the things that she loves and prepare ourselves to plan for a cremation and a celebration of life. Thank you all for your love and continued support for our family.
