If you have had the pleasure of meeting my brother Elijah, you know that he is a light, and a positive influence on those he comes in contact with. His humor can brighten a room, and I have such fond memories of us growing up.

After living with diabetes for over 15 years, Elijah was hit with a diagnosis of stage two kidney disease. In just two months, it has progressed to stage four.
We all know our healthcare system is a nightmare. The trials of paying for life saving medication has now been exacerbated by testing and treatment costs due to the new diagnosis. Insurance will not kick in until a deductible has been met. Elijah will need to pay $6000 out of pocket before receiving assistance. Doctors have been dragging their feet with creating treatment plans due to lack of funds.

Elijah is working toward becoming a Registered Nurse, and with just one year of schooling left, he is in need of assistance. He works hard to remain independent, but does not shy away from asking for help when absolutely necessary. His condition has led to reduced hours at work, but the medical bills and day to day expenses do not stop.

Elijah has been working full time at the hospital serving his community, and providing for himself, while helping his family when he is able. Like many of us, he still struggles to make ends meet.
I write this to ask for any bit of help you can provide. While I want nothing more than to be able to give my little brother what he needs, I am not in a place to do so. What I CAN do is use my small platform to reach out to you.

If you cannot donate to our cause, please share so others have the opportunity to do so. Thank you.
