Assistance for Amanda Jones after brain surgery

Donation protected

Hello, my name is Anthony Muniz Jr and Julie Cleghorn. We have created this Go Fund me on behalf of our very good friend Amanda Jones.

On November 20, 2020, Amanda was experiencing some left sided tingling on her body and all around wasn’t feeling right.  She went to urgent care and they immediately sent her to the emergency room.  At the time, the doctors thought that Amanda had a stroke and had bleeding in the brain.  A 43 year old single mother, had a stroke?  The news seemed unreal. At the time, the doctors did not feel there was a need for emergency surgery, but over the next few days, they needed to run tests.  On November 23, 2020 the doctors determined that Amanda had an aneurysm in her brain and needed surgery to avoid a rupture that could lead to death.  On November 24, 2020, Amanda had brain surgery.  Amanda made it through surgery and was able to talk, but unable to move.  Later that day, the doctors performed a follow up check and determined that Amanda would need a second surgery.  The doctors wanted to be safe as the clot was actually beneath the surface tissue.  The doctors had another MRI done at a specific angle so they can create a plan that would not risk her motor functions or permanent damage.  On November 25, 2020 the second brain surgery was performed.  News came from Trashawn, Amanda’s son, that the second surgery was a success!  She would begin inpatient physical therapy later that day but the hard part is over and now Amanda could focus on trying to get herself back walking again and one day maybe even have use of her left arm.  Amanda is alive and the aneurysm has been taken care of!

The news of this surgery was devastating.  Not only devastating that our very good friend is sick but that this was just another streak of bad luck that 2020 had caused.  After 24 years in the Sports and Entertainment business, Amanda was one of thousands of employees that lost her job.  Pounding the pavement to secure employment has not paid off.  And now this...What else can happen to one of the most caring and selfless people I know?  Amanda is that person if she had $5 in her checking account and you needed help, she would give you her last dollar with no questions asked.  Amanda has been the backbone of her family and friends and helping out when anyone needed her.  Never ever asking for anything in return.  Now it is time for us to help Amanda.  Amanda will be unable to work for quite some time and when the time comes that Amanda can leave the hospital, modifications will need to be done to her home in order for her home to be livable.  We are asking for help with the medical bills and household expenses while Amanda is recovering. Amanda and her son are extremely grateful for the outpouring of prayers and support during this difficult time.
