I'm Amanda. I created this GoFundMe because I am in desperate need to relocate from where I currently reside. I've been renting my apartment since July 2024. Last week, I received a 14-day eviction notice on my door. The lady I pay $2000 a month in rent has not paid since April 2024. Even before I moved in, she owed. I also gave her a $5000 deposit to move in. I completely renovated this apartment because I planned on staying. New refrigerator, bathroom sink, light fixtures. Painted and exterminated. I left my apartment of 14 years because of this opportunity I was promised and invested all I had. Later, I found out she's a scammer, and now here we are. I've been having extreme anxiety with the thought of being homeless or having to stay with family with my daughter. We've always had our own apartment. The holidays are days away, and I don't know what to do. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Assistance with legal services would also be very helpful. I am completely lost and have no idea what's next. It takes a lot to ask for help, and I know the holidays are here, and it's hard for everyone, so I understand. I don't receive any help from anywhere; I just work and pay my bills. I reached out to building management to see if I could either take over the apartment or get another apartment in the building but was told thats not how they work. I would have to apply and wait. Theres a waiting list process.
