On January 8 2018 there was a serious fire at 775 Riverside Drive.
Fortunately there were no deaths, although several people were injured. Subsequent investigation of building damages show that extensive repairs are required and that residents of the building will not be allowed to return to their apartments for the better part of a year.
Rafael (Alex) Nunez, who resided at 775 RSD, is a long service employee of The Grinnell, at 800 RSD. The Grinnell Board of Directors
is asking Alex' friends and neighbors to contribute to a GO FUND ME account to assist him and his family during this difficult time. Any amount is welcome; a goal of $5000 has been set.
