Assistance for Aaron
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Nate Hart, and I am fundraising for my friend and colleague, Mr. Aaron Briscoe.
Aaron joined Mission Community Hospital in 2017 as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). He is responsible for triaging patients, performing EKG studies, applying splints, bandages, and many other tasks. Aaron is a bright young man who works selflessly. In addition to becoming a trainer for workplace violence, he is a role model for the other EMTs in the department. As a member of our emergency staff and like many others, Aaron, 29, has seen a fair amount of injuries coming through our doors. And on June 12th, Aaron himself, became the injured patient.
While traveling to work that Sunday evening, Aaron was the victim of a reckless hit & run collision when his motorcycle was struck by a motor vehicle. He was launched several feet into the air and landed on the pavement, lifeless. Fast-acting wittiness jumped into action as they rushed to his side and called 911. They saved his life. Aaron was immediately transported to the UCLA Medical Center where he spent 10-days in the ICU. The doctors were not able to save his right leg and eventually performed a leg amputation below the knee. Devastated, but hopeful. Aaron is now transferred to a regular medical bed and is receiving excellent care. He is expected to be discharged within the week.
Now for the ask. We need your help!
Aaron will be off work for a several months as he recovers from this unfortunate injury. He will undergo extensive physical therapy and start adjusting to his new life as an amputee. As the medical bills start coming in, Aaron's income will be limited and supplements are not available. He shares an apartment with his girlfriend, Jasmine, and two beloved dogs, Ava and Solana (also the loves of his life). All monies raised will be used to pay medical bills, out-of-pocket expenses, medical appointment transportation, durable medical equipment, and therapies requiring co-pays, etc.
We are hoping this page finds you in a spirit of compassion and giving. We also realize that economic restrictions may give you pause to donate, but I hope your heart leads you to consider Aaron, a brave young man whose entire life was changed overnight. I am writing this GoFundMe because I believe in friendship. I believe you can make a difference. I believe in you.
Please budget something for Aaron and share this page with your friends and loved ones. We are hoping to reach $20,000.
Thank you.
