Assistance During Multiple, Unexpected Tragedies

As many of you know, my dad passed away after a short battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. True to his nature, he worked right up until the day before his death.

My dad spent his life working on real estate investment projects that required years of planning and high upfront costs before any income was realized. While this sometimes appeared successful from the outside, the reality was a constant cycle of expenses and delayed returns that became increasingly difficult through multiple recessions. He carried far more financial strain than he ever shared with those he loved most.

In the two weeks since his passing, I have discovered the full scope of his business and personal finances. This has included years of unresolved tax filings, liens, and mounting fees that require my immediate attention.

Just days after Dad passed, my mom was hospitalized with issues most likely triggered by the overwhelming stress of losing Dad. Once she is discharged, Mom will need to go into a care facility that will require more funds than what her insurance can fully cover. At the same time, I am managing these responsibilities while working full-time and trying to keep up with their mortgage, utilities, and medical bills. Any future sale of my parents’ home will go toward settling debts and supporting my mom’s care, but I am struggling to keep everything afloat in the meantime.

How the Funds Will Be Used
Funds raised will help cover my dad's mortuary expenses, both parents' medical expenses, care-related costs for my mom, and the necessary professional services required to resolve their outstanding financial and tax obligations while I work toward selling their home.

Asking for help is not something I do lightly; however, every bit of support—whether through a donation, sharing this page, or keeping our family in your prayers—means more than I can express.

Above all else, please keep my family in your thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time. Warmest aloha from the Pick ohana.
