I live in Rocky Mount, NC. I’m freshly 16 and I’m attending a high school in another town. I applied to a job in my town and I’m hoping to get a response soon from them, and that means I need a vehicle to get me back and forth from my job and my school. This year is going to get very hectic because I’m gearing up to do internships for my school as well. My parents are becoming more and more busy, and it’s going to be hard to get them to take me to work and to my internship opportunity. They don’t have to take me to school, but some days I stay back to finish tests and assignments, and sometimes my parents can’t pick me up. I do a lot around the community too with service learning (volunteer work) and it’s hard to gauge the hours my parents are available to take me. I was also in teen court and I had to stop going due to transportation. I don’t have enough to put a down payment on a car (2000+), so I really need help with that. I think everyone wants to be independent as a teen, but im not thinking about that exact reason. Being independent has its own benefits but also a lot of responsibilities. The main reason i want to do this is because I want to take the load off of my parents. I want to be able to sustain myself enough so they don’t have to be stressed or worry about how ill get picked up or dropped off somewhere. The price is set to what the car would be, but I’m not against getting something cheaper. I don’t know if they tax heavily up here either. You can donate what you can/want. I just need assistance!
