Assist with Medical Costs for Micheal & Brittany

What started out as a date night for two young parents, Micheal Hutchinson, 32, and Brittany Leitermann, 28, simply going out for a late dinner, ultimately ended in a tragic nightmare.

On February 5th, 2025, our daughter and her fiancé went out to dinner. On their way back home, an ice storm brewed in. They were taking their time driving home. While heading onto an off-ramp near their home, they hit a patch of icy road, ultimately causing them to slide off the road into another vehicle that had already slid off the road.

Fearing they hit the occupant of the vehicle, they got out of their vehicle to check on the occupant of the other vehicle. Within minutes, another vehicle driven by a drunk driver came onto the off-ramp. The driver slid precisely off the road in the exact same spot and could not stop. Micheal saw the car was headed straight for him and Brittany with seconds to spare. Micheal tried to push Brittany out of harm’s way. Micheal took most of the hit from the car, and Brittany was badly injured as well.

Both Brittany and Micheal are currently in Milwaukee’s hospital in the T.I.C.U., a hospital unit that provides specialized care for patients with severe injuries. Brittany and Micheal have three small children ranging from the ages of 8, 2, and 9 months. Thankfully, the young children were not with Brittany and Micheal. The children are currently staying with their wonderful and amazing grandparents, Nicci and Eric Birr.

Though you can imagine, medical bills are piling up, and the children are going to need some supplies. We ask with hesitation for any donations to help with medical bills and supplies the children will need while their parents are trying to recover from major injuries. Micheal is currently in a coma and fighting for his life. Brittany had surgery to repair her wrist that was severed and major damage done to arteries and tendons in her dominant hand, along with major bruising throughout her body.
