Assist with Martha Lunsford's Funeral Expenses

I recently lost my mom, Martha Lunsford, to pneumonia (see obituary at Trinity Funeral Home's website). I'm Nicholas Lunsford, the younger of her two sons, though she called me Bobby (from my middle name), and many of you know me as Bing. She never really wanted to deal with making pre-arrangements for her eventual death. Luckily enough, I did get her to talk about her wishes to some extent. She wanted to be buried at the Veterans Cemetery in Mission, TX.

She did have a life insurance policy, which I discovered from the automatic payment listed on her bank statement. But I couldn't find the policy papers. Trinity Funeral Home contacted the insurance company, finding out the policy was for $3,000 and that the beneficiary was my brother, with whom my mom had a falling-out about 3 years ago. As far as he knew, my mom wanted to be cremated, but she had changed her mind since the falling-out. So he would only authorize the insurance company to make a check to Trinity for an amount equal to their price for cremation, $1,824.

The total is $5,117, which leaves a difference of $3,293. Any amount would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
