Assist with Marlis's Funeral and Family Support

My name is Lea. I am Marlis's stepdaughter. I am organizing this for my mother Anessa, Marlis's wife.

On April 7th, Marlis went into the hospital with pain in her stomach. On April 9th, she was diagnosed with Cancer. She was admitted to the hospital and stayed until April 18th. She went home on April 18th, and all the doctors knew and were telling us was that it affected 4 organs: her liver, colon, uterus, and her lymph nodes.

The next 1.5 weeks got worse and took a drastic turn. Marlis couldn't eat or use the restroom. Mom and Marlis continued to go back to the hospital to get care for Marlis's pain and wait for pathology results.

On April 30th, Marlis woke up and stated she couldn't breathe. She arrived at the hospital shortly after her heart had stopped and was placed on a ventilator. At that time, we had found out the tumor had grown from 10cm to over 30cm and wrapped itself around all her organs and shut down her entire body.

She was able to come to and tell us she no longer wanted life-saving measures. A few hours later, she went to heaven on May 1st at 3:38 pm, surrounded by loved ones.

As we plan her celebration of life, we are faced with the financial struggle. Marlis didn't have life insurance. Marlis wanted to be cremated. The funds raised will go towards her funeral expenses and help Anessa while she is off work, grieving the loss of her soulmate.
