Assist with Luna's End-of-Life Care Costs

Donation protected
Hi! I'm Kacie, I'm a twenty four year old recent college graduate and I'm Luna's mother. I was hoping I would never need to post on here again but alas, this is how all dog lives eventually come to an end. Luna developed breast cancer in 2022 and the surgery, which was possible with a lot of generous help, was successful in removing almost all of her cancer. We decided not to go through with chemo as by that point she was already well over ten years old and we wanted her to have a good rest of her life if that was it.

Thankfully the surgery gave us another two years with our girl and she has given both myself and my mother the most loving five years that she could have. We first adopted Luna as a sort of surrender in January of 2019 and while she was frightened and nervous, coming to a new home as an almost eight year old dog she soon sprang into practically a new dog. She's been full of love, life, and a serious (and adorable) sassy attitude since we've taken her in. We've been through so much together including two graduations, the loss of a beloved grandparent, and several surgeries both on my end and hers. She has been the glue to our little family and it breaks my heart to be writing this now.

Recently, we noticed Luna's appetite dwindle which is odd for a girl who will try to dig cheese out of the trash. After a painful vet visit, we learned that her cancer had come back in full force and has spread to her liver. It is never the news a pet parent wants to hear knowing they've done all they could so now, we're spoiling her with all the treats and chicken she wants. We don't know how much time we have left, the vet estimated only a handful of weeks if even but I am so grateful to have had her even for the short time I had. She's shown me how to be a better person and I want to make certain she is comfortable in the end. I'm soon to be drowning in student debt and financially, this was a horrible time to happen so I've made this gofundme in hopes to cover Luna's cremation cost, a custom urn, and if it comes down to it the cost for euthenasia.

Any and all donations will be put towards her medical bills and I will try to update this as much as I can. If those of you who know Luna personally would like to come by and say your goodbyes, please do. I want her to know how beautiful and loved she is.

Thanks! Luna's Mom Kacie <333
