My name is Carolina. The oldest daughter to Jeannette Leal.

If you ever had the privilege of knowing my mother you would have loved her from the very start. She was the most sweetest most loving and caring individual I have ever been blessed to have called my mother. She was the type of person that always had her arms open for anyone that came through her path. She always made sure that you were always welcomed. She was on borrowed time for the past 10 years when everyone else thought she wasn’t going to make it and she made sure that she was a trooper. On February 6 she was feeling bad but didn’t want to go to the hospital. For four restless nights my little sister who was her pride and joy and caretaker watched over her. We didn’t know that on February 10 was going to be the last time we hear her voice. Immediately after arriving at the hospital she was placed in and endured a coma where she struggled another 10 days just to make sure we were able to tell her that we are okay and for her to stop fighting to be with us and to be with God who is waiting for her. I know deep down she didn’t want to leave her cubs behind but we found peace when we were able to tell her we will be okay and stay together and that she can go without worrying about us. And a hour later she was gone at 6:02 pm on February 20, 2025 at Jackson Memorial Hospital.

To be honest. I’m so lost without the one person that I called family. She reminds every chance she had to tell me that family is so important and in times like this we need to be there for each other.
