Frank B Laughlin IV, my friend, my confidant, my protector... My One True Love. Not just mine alone but loved and beloved by friends and family. Frank qualified for Medicaid in the Spring of this year. He sought treatment for an ongoing shoulder injury... We thought it was a rotator cuff injury. Nope. We left that care visit with a cancer diagnosis. Cancer that was already metastasized from his upper left lung to muscle, bone, and lymph nodes. Pain control was a daily challenge. Medicaid has rules about what they'll pay for, and how often. Frank decided to try chemo. and radiation... He had to, otherwise he never would have known if it would give him some time. The radiation burns, even though we used all the ointments and aloe, literally cooked his skin. The chemo. was every bad thing you've ever heard. Uncontrolled nausea, vomiting sometimes every 20 minutes... He picked up a c. diff. infection because he was so immunocompromised. Frank had lost 60 lbs by this point. The last chemo. treatment was too much for his body. Frank died August 1st, at home in my arms... With boobs in his face (from the way I was holding him). So now I'm asking for financial assistance for the cost of cremation, please. Frank's friends and family were so generous with getting money together to reimburse me for his medical expenses!
