We received news in July that my father, Dennis Fell, had gone into complete liver failure. Upon doing further testing, he was recently diagnosed with esophageal cancer. He was going weekly to have the fluid in his stomach drained and going daily to do radiation and chemo. We were told that he had a good survival chance with going to the daily radiation and treatments.
However, when being woken up for his appointment on September 29, 2025, he was confused and completely out of it. He was taken to his radiation appointment, and before he was even out of the car, the nurse determined that he needed to be taken to the hospital where they admitted him. On September 30, 2025, at 3:04 am, I received a call from the doctor on call who told me that he was very out of it, so much so that he was pulling out IVs. When I apologized to the doctor, he said he needed to apologize to me because that is a sign of what they call "end of life." We were informed that we have days, if not hours, with him, and we do not want him to be uncomfortable during that time. They will continue medicine as needed to make him comfortable, but we have decided to put him on hospice/comfort care.
Due to how quickly this all happened and very little planning (due to him not wanting to talk about it or believe it), we had planned on him being donated to science only to find that he is likely not a candidate. Any help on his cremation and memorial would be greatly appreciated.
Dennis is leaving behind an abundance of grandchildren who love him deeply.
To know Dennis is to love Dennis. He is a jokester, lover of motorcycles, BIG dogs, fishing, and his Ravens.
I know he would appreciate all the help to make this possible.
Thank you,
Kayla Hardy (Daughter) and Family.
