Hello, the family of Deborah Stewart is starting this go fund me for assistance with her funeral arrangements. She went into the hospital on 7/7/2025 to get a wound on her leg checked out. She’s been having issues with her left leg for a while now giving her great deals of pain. Her care team determined that they couldn’t do anything else with her leg and wanted to move forward with amputation. She was in agreement with the amputation, and had surgery 7/15/2025. She was in good spirits after surgery and was her normal self and was setting up to go to a rehab facility for therapy. On Saturday 7/19/2025 the family received a phone call that she suddenly went unresponsive while receiving a cat scan due to her complaining of stomach and back pain. She coded a total of three times with one of those times her being down for 14 minutes. The cause of her cardiac arrest was found to be large blood clots on her lungs causing stress to her heart. We were not informed of her being down for 14 minutes initially and we were given the run around about the actual details that took place during this time. She is currently hooked up to a ventilator and tube feeding but we won’t continue to let her live like that. Doctors are saying she has a significant amount of damage to her brain and that the person we knew her as is now gone. We did not expect for this to happen and she did not have life insurance due to being on a fixed income. Any donation no matter how big or small is greatly appreciated including prayer.
