Hi, this GoFundMe is to help cover my anticipated medical and recovery expenses for treatment of my brain tumor. You can follow along my journey on my connected CaringBridge blog called Molly’s Brain. The tumor was discovered by MRI 8/13/2024 and is a benign meningioma (tumor in brain lining), it is thought. Will find out from neurosurgeon 8/20/24 whether brain surgery will be needed (highly likely). Yes, I have health insurance but it requires $4,500 out of pocket before it kicks in. As of August 16th, I have $27 in my savings account (please don’t ask why - I didn’t plan on a brain tumor)..

On January 1, 2025, new deductibles ($35/specialist visit), copays (20%/treatment) and the $4,500 OOP requirements will begin all over again. In addition to medical bills, I also anticipate needing recovery aid like grocery shopping, etc. I might also need help paying my rent because going on disability leave from my employer will cut my monthly pay down to 60%.
