Vin Cherwoo, president of the News Media Guild and an editor and writer on The Associated Press sports desk for more than three decades, died on Sept. 4 at 56.

He had a long illness that required a lengthy hospital stay. Vin and his wife Stacy incurred significant medical bills for his care.

We’d like to help alleviate some of the financial burden on Stacy and Vin’s family through the generosity of his many friends, colleagues and fellow guild members.
