Assist Victoria in Achieving Her Teaching Dream

 Hi, my name is Victoria, and I’m just 23 days away from completing student teaching, and after that, I will be graduating on June 21st. I’ve worked so hard for this moment, and I’m almost there, but I need a little help to make it across the finish line.

From the start, my plan was to gradually step away from my full-time job as a paraprofessional by April, working three days a week from January to April while doing my student teaching practicum two days a week. I had savings set aside to carry me through the final stretch, from April to June, when my unpaid full-time internship would begin.

But things didn’t go as planned.

My job told me I couldn’t adjust my schedule, so I had to leave much earlier than expected — in January — just to start my practicum. That meant my savings, originally set aside for April through June, were instead used from January to March. They didn’t last long.

Now I’m student teaching full-time without pay, working part-time at an after-school program, and still taking classes to finish my degree. I considered picking up an overnight job, but balancing a full-time unpaid internship, a part-time job, and a third job would be too much, and I want to give my best to my students and schoolwork to finish strong.

To make things even harder, my part-time job ends in May. Starting June 1st, I’ll have no income, but I’ll still have to pay rent, bills, and a tuition balance in order to graduate. I’m actively looking for summer work and preparing for my first full-time teaching position in the fall. I just need a little help to get through these next few months.
